I’ve been neglecting this place. This needs to change, but I tend to be slow in stuff so we’ll play it by ear for now. Got home from KOMIKON 2012. Awesome fun with friends and tons of loot :)

#thisismylife So apparently I was on TV yesterday afternoon ;p
Was a guest on yesterday’s edition of Global News Network’s The Workplace, which aired live on Channel 8 Destiny Cable and Channel 1 on Gsat.
The first photo shows me and with the show’s lovely host, Marybeth Nave on the feed, the second and third are of the two of us and a member of the crew just as we were setting up Rufio for the soundcheck. The fourth and fifth photos are from the actual show itself, during one of my performances and then during talk-segment where MB and I talked about my experience as an independent artist and what it means to balance working my day (lol night?) job all the while pursuing my passion.
The last two pictures are bonus shenanigans from the set: hanging with the girls — host Marybeth Nave, Angel Bombarda and travel blogger/”Sole Sister” Lois Yasay who you can check out over here; and yep, that’s me and Angel checking out the new Avengers movie trailer which Flipgeeks Tony Tuason and Earl Maghirang introduced for their segment (no, I have no shame the preview was on the monitor on the floor and I had to get a better look).
It was a really great experience and not at all nerve-wracking. :) Thank you again to Marybeth for having me over and thank you to the whole team over at GNN for making my first ever TV guesting a great one! —N.

#thisismylife One of my best friends lives in LA. We’ve only known each other for a couple of months and we’ve never really had the opportunity to hang out or be in each other’s immediate presence, but like some people who are just meant to come into your life when you need them, in the short span of time that she and I have gotten to know each other, I can readily say that she is one of those lifelines that have kept me afloat, have kept me believing. Everyone needs friends like that. I’m fortunate enough that I have her and our little crew, and all my other friends, near or far.
I have missed Audrey a ridiculous amount these last two weeks and she is now online. And we are flailing. And I just wanted to capture this moment because this is just such a wonderful way to begin the day.

I live in the tropics so the hat and the jacket (the former is mine, the latter I borrowed from my officemate) in these three photos of me are actually rather out of place given the weather (it’s 29 degrees Celcius out right now huhuhu what is this sob).
These were taken the other day — one of them mid-sneeze — because I was on my lunch break on the graveyard shift and to cheer myself up from having all the sick (ew) I decided to put myself together and put together some vanity shots.
It’s a strange hobby, I know, taking photos of oneself. But I do it sometimes to share what my current state of being is like with some friends and we usually have a good laugh. Plus, there’s nothing quite like your bbs telling you that you look adorbs despite feeling bogged down with a threatening fever and the most uncomfortable chills to make you feel a little bit better. Just a smidge.
(You know who you are and you better all know that I love you for all the love you give me when I am not at my shiniest.)
Anyway. I had… hoped to have something for you guys today. There’s this song that I’ve been rehearsing as my first offering for 2012 and I’ve actually been working on it for days now but… my voice is shot thanks to this non-cold and I’ve been advised to take it easy. It’s sound concern, but it still makes me feel sad (and a mite anxious) that I haven’t been able to stick to the schedule I set for myself.
Hopefully this passes soon. I never feel quite like myself if I can’t carry a note. :(
SO, TUMBLRVERSE. I realized that there are a ton of you following this blog of mine but I realized don’t… really know any of you at all :( Okay, maybe I know some of you — hi guys! I’d like to change that, if I can.
